Never Alone

Loneliness has always been a reality for humans.  Loneliness can be caused by many factors: Death of a loved one, moving to a new area, rejection by friends or family, self-isolation due to depression.  To name just a few.

Loneliness has been an increasing problem this past year.  We were told to isolate to protect ourselves.  Zoom became the normal way to communicate but not everyone has that access or ability.  Maybe this is you: Psalms 102:7 “I lie awake, lonely as a solitary bird on a roof.”

If so, this verse is for you ~ Psalms 68:6a “God places the lonely in families.”

Our immediate family may not meet all our needs.  I believe that is why God gives us friendships, especially friends within the family of Christian believers.  We need to be connected and available to give help and encouragement to those facing loneliness.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT "Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. (10) If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.  But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.  (11)Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm.  But how can one be warm alone? (12) A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer.  Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”

This Pandemic has kept many from family and friends.  Our source of strength and help is in the Lord.  Psalms 40:1-2 CEV “I patiently waited, Lord, for you to hear my prayer.  You listened and pulled me from a lonely pit full of mud and mire.  You let me stand on a rock with my feet firm, (3) and you gave me a new song, a song of praise to you…..”

Jesus is always available and ready to hear us as we cry out to Him.  I Corinthians 1:9 Amp “God is faithful [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise-He canbe depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

We can be confident that as we spend time with Him, Jesus will be close and comfort our lonely hearts.

Do not loose hope that we will be together again for fellowship and fun.  God desires for us to be together to worship Him.  I look forward to seeing you in person!

Stay well, Stay safe
