God's Mercy

“Therefore be merciful (sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate) even as your Father is [all these].” Luke 6:36 AMPC

One of my favorite characteristics of our Lord is His mercy.  I am constantly reminded of how compassionate He is. Because of His mercy and love we are saved and promised eternal life.  Ephesians 2:4-5 NLT “But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, (5) that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

1Peter 1:3 NLT “All Praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.  Now we live with great expectation,”

Our shortcomings are all forgiven because of God’s love and mercy.  Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT “The faithful love of the Lord never ends!  His mercies never cease.  (23) Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.

Each day is new and a chance to start over.  If we have failed ourselves, we know God is merciful
and waiting to give us the opportunity to start afresh.

Psalms 103:10 NLT “He does not punish us for all our sins; He does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.”

We are told we can come BOLDLY to God to receive His mercy in Hebrews 4:16 NLT “so let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.  There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

I need His mercy.  Without His grace and mercy I would be without hope.

Psalms 103:8 “The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.”  I can count on this when I fall short.  My part is to repent and change.  For our family members who are struggling, I know God knows their hearts and in His mercy will give them every opportunity to choose Him.

I serve a merciful God who chose me and saved me.  For that I am eternally grateful.

Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.  He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.”

Stay Well, Stay Safe

Because of His Great Mercy,
